From the parent's word...

“This year, my daughter Tara Iyer from VII D, has been actively involved in the School Enterprise Challenge. Along with her, I have inadvertently got caught up with the project and would like to share a few thoughts on it. As a child suffering through hours of school studies (it definitely felt like suffering at that time) and even after passing out from school, I always wondered where I would be able to apply the knowledge which I was being made to study.
And then through all my working years, I distinctly felt the disconnect between school studies and real world.
However, I am so happy that our school is today filling that gap. Along with the textual knowledge, our kids are learning about the real world outside and applying the rules of business, eco conservation, time management, team work and so many more essential skills which will stand them in good stead in later years.  The School Enterprise has given a fresh perspective and a great platform to the kids to first hand learn the lessons which otherwise have to be learnt the hard way.  On the one hand, our children are interacting and learning from children and teachers from a global school and on the other they are passing these skills to very underprivileged street children from our city. That they are able to balance these two extremes with equal ease, speaks volumes about the strength and confidence this school has provided them with. Academic brilliance can only be a small part of one’s life but these life lessons are the very foundation on which our children will build their life. I am delighted that our school is one of the rare educational institutes which does not follow the rat race but charters its own path and the future path of all its students.
My personal experiences with the school activities has reinforced my belief that school should be more than text books and a 95% result and this has helped me to encourage and promote a more healthy and fulfilling life for my child. I deeply appreciate the efforts that the school is taking and hope our children will continue to benefit from it. On my part, I would like to offer my full support and time in any way that I can in furthering this enterprise.
