2nd December, 2014, Udayachal High School:
“It’s not about Ideas,
It’s about making Ideas ‘happen’. ”
“The Most anxious moment!” – The ideaL jotter team.
The sense of nervousness was high in the air as the program began in the afternoon in the auditorium of Udayachal High School, Mumbai. A 6 foot long poster of the ideaL jotter’s logo, decorating the backdrop, the winning cards of the card making competition, displayed on the side wings and an audience waiting for the event to start, such was the atmosphere on the 2nd of December.
For the prosperous start of our enterprise, the students prayed to the almighty and invocated his blessings and finally, ‘The ideaL jotter’ was unveiled. A brief speech about the enterprise was followed by a skit to spread the message of up cycling and recycling. A marvelous peace song was followed by a ramp walk with our various products which were highly appreciated by the audience and our products were launched.
The Prize distribution ceremony to the winners of the card making competition took place by the hands of the respected chief guest Mr. Sanjay Mehta, Managing Director, Computer Business Management. Our chief guest spoke a few words and presented a token of appreciation to our special guests from Shanti nagar and the audience dispersed for the day.

Shanti Nagar, Ghatkopar (E) 11th November, 2014:
A card making activity was organized by the School Enterprise Team in Shanti Nagar on 11th November, 2014 to teach the underprivileged children a life skill in order to brighten their future.

“The kids at Shanti Nagar are mostly the children of rag pickers. They have seen terrible gang fights; physical and sexual abuse and most of them are either fatherless or live in broken homes. Most of them do go to a local municipal school but it's not adding much value to their lives. They need love and support desperately so that their future isn't a repetition of their parents' miserable lives.”
Priscilla J, A social worker at ZOE Ministries.

The students of Udayachal High School decided to teach these children a life skill of making and designing cards. The event took place in a small Protestant church. Nine children willingly participated in the event, where in every participating Udayachalite taught one child.  The children were taught the skills of cutting, pasting and punching papers and designing their own cards using their own creativity. A variety of designs patterns and motifs were used to decorate the cards. Once the card making session was over they had a photo session with the students they worked with. The children were given a gift as a token of love. The event ended by enjoying biscuits and chocolates together.
A lot of enthusiasm and willingness to work together was seen amongst everybody. The Udayachalites didn’t face any difficulties and it was a smooth sailing session with the underprivileged children.

“Watching the enthusiastic, eager faces of the Shanti Nagar parents and children as they hopefully pondered about learning a new skill was a joy in itself. In the session, the quick bond between the students of Udayachal and the street children, followed by the unleashing of their creativity into the making of the greeting cards etched in me a memory worth cherishing. It was indeed bewildering to see young Udayachal students display great patience and wisdom in teaching another child a new skill. The happy faces of the Shanti nagar children at the end of the session was the icing on the cake. It was a time well spent for all of us.
Thank you for making this possible!”
Priscilla J.

The School Enterprise Team looks forward to many more ventures like this and hopes to make a better world for these children.

Hubble, 12th November, 2014: The production team of the ideaL jotter, held a card making workshop for parents at Hubble (i.e. a cafeteria and innovative centre within the Godrej premises for the employees,) to help them celebrate children’s day that falls on the 14th of November each year. The workshop was a great success as many parents stepped forward and made a surprise card for their child. The parents spent about 45 minutes each and took the pain to make a card that was beautiful and worthy of their child on the occasion of children’s day. On a whole, the parents were very delighted with the workshop as they could gift their child something new and handmade by themselves and the ideaL jotter took another step forward to serving the community!
